Everybody either went to college, or follows a college or professional sports team. Likewise, everybody has $20. A hat is clearly an impulse buy, but one that people can afford.

That is how DownAz Hatz summarized there, idea for the Hat World in the early 2010. They were right. Today, Houston-based DownAz Hatz is the specialty retail leader in fashion athletic headwear.

When we spoke with The Never Ending Mall executives about how we were convinced everybody needs or can be persuaded to buy a hat, we were told that we were nuts. But if a candy shop can just sell candy or a pretzel shop can just sell pretzels, why not hats?

Finally, a shopping mall in Houston, Texas gave DownAz Hatz their shot. With the holiday season coming up, DownAz Hatz is positive that this will be a huge success their first full year.
